--- SITA BHAUMIK ---
Mixed media and installation artist whose work transcends any traditional boundaries of art. Make-up, spices, and pantyhose are all mediums in which Sita chooses to work in. If you have a chance to see a show...go. The mediocrity of the web does absolutely no justice to this woman's work.

An intensive incubator for the emergence of new ideas and new work, 8 professional Asian American artists gather to create new work in 24-hours. As a group of workaholics, community leaders, activists, and of course artists, the women of the Twenty Four Hour Show are constantly at odds with the clock. The show provides them with opportunity and challenge as they literally put everything aside for the sake of art. The artists span the mediums of dance, performance, written & spoken word, photography and multi-media, so anything can happen.
--- HYPHEN MAGAZINE ---
Hyphen is a magazine about Asian America for the culturally and politically savvy. Built around a clarity of image, word and social awareness, Hyphen takes form from the artists, thinkers and creators who are shaping a new multiethnic generation. Hyphen is not a formula but a sensibility — not a collection of recycled fare with an Asian flavor, but original reporting on stories that move beneath the mainstream. Curious and questioning, Hyphen looks into the hard issues, but also the Asian American by accident, by tangent or by happenstance. Visually arresting, it strikes the gut with clean design, sharp photography and original illustration.
--- WOMEN'S INITIATIVE FUND ---
Women's Initiative is a not-for-profit agency. Our mission is to build the entrepreneurial capacity of women to overcome economic and social barriers and achieve self-sufficiency. Women's Initiative has proven that women create jobs for themselves and others, access the mainstream economy, and increase their economic self-sufficiency when they are given business planning and financing support.

By targeting low-income women, focusing on the needs of traditionally underserved groups including minorities, immigrants, and welfare recipients, Women's Initiative brings new resources into local communities in a unique model. Over half of the Women's Initiative community participates in our classes offered in Spanish through our Alternativas para Latinas en Autosuficiencia (ALAS) program, which boasts culturally competent services and extensive networks that propel Latina entrepreneurs into business success.
